While we have been unable to update the site, the birthday of Andy (March 5) and the anniversary of his passing (March 10) flew by.
Here they are together, Stigwood and all, at the Billboard No. 1 Music Awards 1977.
The awards were for the record sales during the year 1977, and Andy was nominated for the best new star along with people like Shawn Cassidy and David Soul. It was Foreigner that won. The Bee Gees co-hosted the show with Kris Kristopherson.
The show was broadcast live from Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on December 11, 1977. Tiger Beat Star magazine (March 1978) said "they were funny!" And they certainly were! The group was also nominated in the Pop Group of the Year category. So it definitely is not true that Saturday Night Fever put them back on top. Their star had been shining quite brightly again since they started steering in the main course.
The presenters of the evening included Karen Carpentar (the best female vocalist category) and Donna Summer (the album of the year category).
