43 years ago today, Barry Gibb celebrated his 27th birthday in Japan – as he and his brothers kicked off their 1973 Japanese tour which took them to seven different Japanese cities, giving nine concerts in all.

The photo shows Barry during the rehearsal for the opening day of the second Japanese tour of the Bee Gees, at Tokyo Kosei Nenkin Kaikan Hall.  He is a picture of concentration here strumming his trademark white guitar with his eyes closed.

Barry and Linda Gibb also celebrated their wedding anniversary in Tokyo that year.  At that time, Linda was expecting a baby – who later grew up to become the awesome Stephen Gibb!  Stephen, too, celebrated his birthday in Japan in 1989 during the One For All tour of the Bee Gees.  So that makes the two of them.  Hope Barry or Stephen will consider giving Japan another visit, say, for celebrating another birthday here!

Speaking of Linda Gibb, during the virtual concert earlier this month, when the MC said to Barry that she thought he had the coolest wife, Barry’s answer was something like, "Yes, I think so!"
