Robin Gibb private funeral for “family and friends”

Official annoucement was made May 30 (British time) about Robin Gibb’s funeral.  Please see BBC News（Online version dated May 31, 2012) or the RobinGibb.com announcement, etc.

According to the above sources, a private service for close family and friends will take place on June 8 (Friday) in U.K.  The detailed location of the service is not given, but there have been previous reports that it might be near Robin’s home in Oxfordshire.

Those who wish to send flowers are requested instead to donate to two children’s charities on the singer’s native Isle of Man  (children’s hospice Rebecca House and Wish Upon A Dream).  Sir Miles Walker, chairman of Rebecca House is quoted as saying: "You never really think people as famous as Robin would remember a hospice in the Isle of Man…well, I don’t know, words fail me."

According to RobinGibb.com, a memorial service will take place later this year.  There have been rumours about a service in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London in September, but they have not been confirmed yet.  Details will be announced in due course.
