Bee Gees “Number Ones” #5 on UK chart
"Number Ones" by the Bee Gees shot to No. 5 on the U.K. albums chart (by Offcial Chart Company as of May 27, 2012) due to fans’ tribute buying for Robin Gibb.
"Ultimate" is now back on the same chart at No. 35 as well.
Robin was not too fond of the cover picture of "Number Ones," and he was hoping it would come under a different cover when it was re-released for the Christmas season last year. However, to put out the same album with a different cover could present an ethical issue as that might mislead fans into believing it a new, different album. So the idea to issue it with a different cover was abandoned, and Robin was hoping to do promotional activities for it once he was well enough. That never materialized as he was suffering from health issues that eventually claimed his life. But we know how much he cared.
