Standing ovation for Robin Gibb at London Palladium Feb 13
Robin Gibb joined the Soldiers onstage at London Palladium Feb. 13, 2012 (British time) as reported earlier.
According to Daily Mirror (online version dated Feb. 14, 2012), the audience who knew of his recent health issues greeted him with standing ovation.
Prior to the appearance, he told the Daily Mirror that he felt "fantastic" and thanked the readers for the support. Also, one audience member was quoted as saying, “Robin looks wonderful, as well as he has done for ages, and his voice was sounding great. He’s still got such a unique sound, it was a real honour to watch him as I know he has been very ill. Everyone was thrilled to see him looking so well.”
Robin also confirmed that he would sing at the Titanic Requiem World Premiere on Apritl 10.
It was the first public performance by Robin in approx. four months. He sang two songs: "How Deep Is Your Love" and "I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You."
The Soldiers are actual serving soldiers who can/will be called up for tours of duty at any time and very likely following this final date of their hugely successful UK tour. Robin was determined to return to the London stage to join them on this occasion to support the Coming Home charity which as Robin knows does fantastic work looking after those who return.
