Sad, sad news.  Barbara Gibb, mother of the Bee Gees (Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb) and Andy Gibb passed away at the age of 95 in Miami on Friday night, August 13 (local time).  Please rest in peace.  Our thoughts are with her family.

According to Billboard (online version dated August 13, 2016), Barbara was with family and friends when she passed.

Born in Manchester, England, as Barbara Mary Pass on Nov. 17, 1920, she  married Hugh Gibb, with whom she had five children.  Three of her older sons formed the Bee Gees, who, of course, "went on to sell more than 200 million records worldwide," and rank "Third Among Groups for Most Hot 100 No. 1s in History."

Sadly, three of her five children passed away during her lifetime. Andy Gibb died in 1988 at the age of 30 from the heart condition myocarditis. Maurice Gibb died in 2003 at age 53 due to complications of a twisted intestine, and his twin, Robin Gibb, died in 2012 at age 62 from liver and kidney failure after battling cancer.

Funeral services will remain private, but donations in Barbara Gibb’s name can be made to the following charity supported by the family:
