Barry Gibb on Opry: “This is a dream come true for me.”

As reported earlier, Barry Gibb will be making his Opry debut this coming Friday, July 27th.  In a statement posted on the Opry’s website (Opry News July 24), he speaks of how this is a dream come true for him.

I have dreamed of performing on the hallowed stage of the Opry since I was 12 years old, so this is a dream come true for me. There is no greater honor.

Also on the bill Friday night is Ricky Skaggs who has been doing a Barry Gibb track "Soldier’s Son" on his upcoming new album. According to Skaggs:

We pretty much did his demo, only done it a little bit more acoustic, a little more bluegrass. He’s gonna come sing on it when I get home.  I’ve been a huge fan of him and his brothers forever because I’ve always loved good harmony singing and theirs was the best.
