A very sad incident occurred in Manchester where the young Gibb brothers had started their singing career.  On the night of May 22, when the audience were leaving the arena after an Ariana Grande concert, the explosion occurred in a public place just outside.  Reportedly, 19 people were killed and more than 50 injured.

Barry Gibb, who last played in Machester Arena on September 29, 2013 during the Mythology Tour, at once tweeted his message for the victims and their families:

The video at the top shows Barry singing How Can You Mend A Broken Heart with his niece Samantha at the arena.  We chose the song because it was one of Barry’s choices when we had asked Barry and Robin which three songs they would choose if they were to perform a charity concert for Japan.  (Read the original article here）.  FYI Barry chose To Love Somebody, Words, and How Can You Mend A Broken Heart.  Also, Samantha referred to the experience of singing the song together as "healing."
